Facts & Figures 2009

inter airport Europe 2009
Show closes with highly positive results

aerial photo of the show groundsinter airport Europe 2009, the 17th International Exhibition for Airport Equipment, Technology, Design & Services, ended with highly positive results. For the first time, the show took place at the exhibition grounds of the Munich Trade Fair Centre. In total, 12,035 trade visitors from 123 countries came to visit the leading exhibition for the airport industry. 542 exhibitors from 29 countries put a large number of innovative products and services on display.

There was lively trading activity throughout the exhibition halls and outdoor area, and a large number of exhibitors were able to report positive sales figures, although the airport industry is currently facing a difficult economic situation with passenger and freight figure being down. However, airport professionals are starting to have a more positive outlook again.

“The figures for exhibitors, visitors and exhibition space at inter airport Europe 2009 are almost identical to those of 2005”, commented Nicola Hamann, Exhibition Director on behalf of the organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions. “It was obvious though that in times like these, we could not match the figures of the record event in 2007. However, we see it as a big success to be able to announce identical results to 2005, which was an exceptional year for the airport industry.”

Next inter airport Europe will take place from 11 - 14 October 2011, also at the Munich Trade Fair Centre.
