BHS@work, Leonardo's first international workshop, held in Rome in June
10 July 2018
BHS@work, the first international workshop from Italian global high-tech company, Leonardo, dedicated to baggage handling systems (BHS), was held in Rome on 6 and 7 June 2018. The event was aimed to promote and support Leonardo’s brand in the BHS marketplace, which is becoming one the most prestigious in the sector thanks to the numerous successes achieved. The workshop was attended by many airport business leaders coming from many countries, some of them being also involved as speakers like Emilio Bellingardi General Manager of Bergamo Orio al Serio International Airport and Giorgio Gregori Head of Infrastructures Development of Rome Airports, both from Italy, and Pierre Alain Vienne, Head of Baggage Handling System Technical Dept of Zurich Airport in Switzerland, presenting their own experiences in the sector. The event’s agenda included some conference sessions as well as the visit at Rome Fiumicino Airport to see Leonardo’s BHS in operation. In 2009 Rome Fiumicino was the first Airport in Europe to choose Leonardo’s Multisorting Baggage Handling System (MBHS) sorter, based on cross-belt technology that had never previously been used in the airport sector.
