Visualization specialist Barco has launched its TCD-361/LED tower control display for air traffic control applications. Using high-bright LED backlights, this 24-in monitor has been designed to offer excellent readability of text and images, regardless of ambient light conditions. “We are constantly looking for new ways to optimize display performance and reliability,” said Steven Luys, Director Strategic Marketing Defence & Aerospace for Barco. “By incorporating LED technology into our ATC displays, we’ve been able to meet new industry challenges – such as energy efficiency and environmental requirements – while perfecting display performance in terms of brightness, resolution and ergonomics.” Barco’s TCD-361/LED features full-colour HD resolution to present the most detailed information with superior image quality at all times. The new tower control display has an integrated ambient light sensor to automatically adjust brightness settings in function of the ambient light conditions, ranging from bright daylight to dimmed night time, which helps reduce eye fatigue. The 24-in wide screen provides users with a flexible and easily readable HMI display surface. The display is fan-less, offering low-noise operation for even more user comfort. Additionally, by using LED backlights, the TCD-361/LED allows for a slim, compact design for high spatial efficiency in the tower.
