Morpho Detection has won a contract to supply advanced detection solutions at Cornwall Airport Newquay, making the airport the first in the UK to comply with Department for Transport regulations mandating Standard 3-approved explosives detection systems (EDS) to screen all hold baggage by September 2018. The airport has selected Morpho’s compact CTX 5800 EDS to screen all passenger checked baggage and the company will also supply the baggage handling system components to enable a fully-automated hold baggage screening programme. At the checkpoint, Morpho will supply cabin baggage X-ray systems and walkthrough metal detectors to facilitate a robust, multi-layered approach to checkpoint security.
