Morpho Detection recently announced a contract with Denmark’s Copenhagen Airport for 30 desktop Itemiser® 4DX explosives trace detectors (ETD). The first ETD contract awarded by Copenhagen Airport, Itemiser 4DX was selected following competitive testing to meet the requirements of new EU legislation for enhanced explosives screening of passengers. The next-generation of the industry-leading Itemiser family of desktop ETD, Itemiser 4DX quickly detects and identifies trace amounts of explosives on skin, clothing, carried items, bags, vehicles and other surfaces. Optimized for ease-of-use and mobility, Itemiser 4DX eliminates the administrative, regulatory, storage and shipping requirements associated with a radiation-emitting trace detection source. By leveraging long-life consumables and internal calibration, Itemiser 4DX seeks to minimize operational costs for airports and air cargo facilities, law enforcement agencies and government and critical infrastructure installations. Currently approved for passenger and cargo screening throughout European Civil Aviation Conference’s (ECAC) 44 member nations, more than 800 Itemiser 4DX ETD have been shipped to airports throughout Europe. Meanwhile, Morpho Detection has announced a contract with the UK’s Manchester Airports Group (MAG) for 44 Itemiser® 4DXexplosives trace detectors (ETD). After a successful technical and commercially competitive tender, MAG selected the Itemiser 4DX to replace non-Morpho legacy systems and meet new EU mandates for enhanced passenger screening at Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports.
