CATSA orders five CTX™ explosives detection systems from Morpho Detection

Morpho Detection has announced that the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) has ordered five CTX™ explosives detection systems (EDS) valued at USD 6 million. Part of a five-year standing offer announced in 2013, Morpho Detection recently delivered two compact CTX 5800™ and will supply three high-speed CTX 9800 DSi™ EDS to screen hold baggage at airports in Canada later in 2015. To date, this standing offer has resulted in 19 CTX 5800 and 20 CTX 9800 being delivered and installed at airports throughout Canada. Morpho Detection’s CTX EDS use advanced Computed Tomography (CT) technology to screen checked baggage in the most challenging airport environments. Capable of screening more than 1,000 bags/hr, Morpho Detection’s high-speed CTX 9800 enhances operational efficiencies by screening bags faster and with fewer false alarms.
