The company will deliver 11 Elephant® BETA Next Generation (NG) deicers to New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport, and seven BETA units to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) Airport to service the American Airlines Envoy fleet for the coming winter season. Vestergaard North America is actively assisting American with the integration of the deicing units into JFK and ORD operations to deliver an immediate increase in schedule integrity, improved environmental footprint, customer service and cost of operations throughout the winter season. The Elephant® BETA NG is claimed to offer a 40% increase in spray coverage over the previous BETA model as well as increased fuel efficiency, reduction in deicing fluid use, ease of operation, the highest level of reliability and the lowest maintenance costs of any aircraft deicing system available. The BETA NG offers customers a modular design, so that as technological improvements are released they can be effectively added to the equipment. Options include Vestergaard’s Data Transmission System (DTS), Precise Positioning System (PPS), Type IV mixing system and the newly released Enviro-Blend in-truck Type I production. Meanwhile, from January 2015, Vestergaard Company Inc. will act as the service partner for Sweden-based aircraft tractor manufacturer Kalmar Motor in the North American market. Vestergaard’s service technicians will manage Kalmar Motor’s entire maintenance and service operation for North American customers. Kalmar Motor customers in North America currently include Delta Airlines and United Airlines.
