ADB reached milestone 500,000 LED airfield ground lighting installations
07 October 2013
ADB Airfield Solutions has marked a key milestone in the airfield ground lighting (AGL) industry, with the installation of more than 500,000 LED AGL fixtures globally. The achievement reflects the universal acceptance of LED airfield lighting as the new standard in AGL as more and more airports switch to this energy-efficient technology to meet their sustainability goals. ADB Airfield Solutions’ LED-based AD Lights portfolio is ICAO- and FAA-compliant, and is claimed to offer up to 84% energy savings compared to conventional lighting, enabling airports to reduce carbon emissions. The company’s LED light portfolio is installed at leading airports around the world - London Heathrow Airport recently selected ADB’s LED lights for its southern and northern runways and in the U.S., Chicago O’Hare Airport, IL, has more than 10,500 elevated taxiway LED fixtures (ETES), while Denver International Airport, CO, has close to 7,000 in-pavement taxiway LED fixtures from ADB.
