PRESS RELEASE

June 2006

Airport equipment suppliers seek share of booming Chinese market

A large group of airport equipment suppliers from Germany, together with other national groups from Finland and Italy, are among the latest exhibitors to confirm their participation at inter airport China 2006, which takes place in Beijing from 6 to 8 September 2006. Together with many other firms industry-wide, they will join similar groupings of companies from France and the UK at the show to seek a share of the business opportunities presented by a rapid expansion of China’s airport infrastructure.

Exhibitors have welcomed this second inter airport show staged in China by Mack Brooks Exhibitions, with some 60 per cent of participants in the first event in 2004 returning this year. Leading names from more than a dozen countries are taking part in the event, covering the key areas of ramp equipment, terminal systems and supporting technologies and services.

Exhibitors include ground support equipment suppliers such as Cavotec, FMC, Schopf and TLD, emergency vehicles manufacturer Oskosh Truck Corporation, and Siemens, presenting systems and products ranging from airfield lighting to baggage and cargo handling equipment. Other sectors covered at the show will include surface air traffic control, with Oerlikon Contraves and Safegate International participating, and aircraft refuelling, with Meggitt Fuelling Products and Nordic Systems among firms representing this field. Domestic Chinese suppliers will also be exhibiting, including GSE manufacturer Weihai Guangtai Airport Equipment Co.

Also taking a stand at the show will be China Aviation Supplies International Tendering Co, Ltd (CASITC), responsible for most of China’s airport-related purchases and a wholly controlled subsidiary of China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Group Corporation (CASGC). CASGC is supporting and sponsoring inter airport China 2006 on behalf of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

A key feature of this year’s show will be a Meet the Buyers Programme, intended to provide exhibiting companies with an opportunity to learn more about China’s airport construction and development plans and related procurement needs. During the course of the exhibition a series of presentations outlining airport construction and development plans will be given by six organisations and companies responsible for nearly 70 airports in the country.

Mack Brooks Exhibitions has long-standing expertise in organising trade exhibitions for the airports sector, most notably through its inter airport Europe shows. The next of these takes place in Munich, Germany, in October 2007, the 16th in this series of world-leading events. The 2004 inter airport show in Beijing attracted more than 2,800 professional trade visitors. Some 82 per cent of these were Chinese but the exhibition was also visited by civil aviation specialists from 29 countries, confirming the global reach of the inter airport series of events.

PRESS RELEASE

Enhanced business opportunities at inter airport China

January 2006

At this year’s inter airport China, 6 - 8 September 2006 in Beijing, the organiser, Mack Brooks Exhibitions, and its Chinese partner organisations are creating a unique meeting place for airport equipment suppliers and their relevant Chinese customers. For the benefit of exhibiting companies who wish to develop and expand their businesses in China, a “Meet the Buyers Programme” has also been arranged. The programme offers the opportunity to meet the key buyers responsible for procurement for some of China’s most ambitious airport developments.

After the US, China now boasts the world’s second largest number of air passengers and its airline traffic growth is anticipated at 10 per cent annually up to 2020. All over the country, airports are being planned or expanded which implicate a huge demand for airport equipment and systems with enhanced technologies. By 2010, the predicted total investment in airport construction in China will be CNY 150 billion (US$ 18 billion). One third of this figure will be earmarked for the procurement of airport equipment and systems.

The “Meet the Buyers Programme” assists Western companies in gaining a clear insight into five particular projects within this booming market. The programme will start with an introduction by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, providing an overview of China’s airport construction and enhancement strategy. It will then be followed by five individual presentations covering major sites in China, where an airport is either planned or expansion is to be undertaken. For participants, this is a unique occasion to collect useful information on business opportunities in China.

Representatives of the airports of Yunnan Kunming, Wuhan Tianhe, Tianjin Binhai, Hangzhou Xiaoshan, Huhehaote Baita and Beijing Capital Airport Group have confirmed they will hold a presentation. They will provide detailed
information on planned investment and the status of development. Furthermore, they will explain which products and systems will primarily be needed. After every presentation exhibitors will have the chance to take part in a “Question and Answer session” to gain an even deeper understanding of market opportunities in China.

inter airport China 2006 is the fifth Asian edition of the world-wide series of premier inter airport shows organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions. The exhibition offers a convenient platform for the development and expansion of business contacts between Western and Asian business partners. More than 150 exhibitors from all over the world are expected to take part in the show at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, including group participations from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK.

PRESS RELEASE

inter airport China returns to Beijing.

April 2005

Following the great success of the first inter airport show to be held in China, organisers Mack Brooks Exhibitions have announced that the next event in the series will return to the same venue.

inter airport China 2006 will take place at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing from 6 to 8 September 2006. And as a result of the strong approval from exhibitors of facilities provided at the previous show in 2004, the 2006 event will return to the same well appointed pillar-free hall at this impressive location.

Some 150 exhibitors from 20 countries took part in inter airport Asia, China 2004, including government-sponsored group participation from France, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. The show attracted more than 2,800 professional trade visitors. Some 82 per cent of these were Chinese but the exhibition was also visited by civil aviation specialists from 29 countries, confirming the global reach of the inter airport series of events.

Mack Brooks Exhibitions are also pleased to announce that the 2006 exhibition will again enjoy the support of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and of the China Aviation Supplies International Tendering Co Ltd (CASITC), part of the China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Group Corporation (CASGC). Both bodies are pivotal in developing and equipping China’s fast-growing airport sector, which serves a market in which air passenger and cargo traffic is growing at an annual rate of 20 per cent.

Tom Ho, Show Director for the event at Mack Brooks Exhibitions commented: ‘The very positive reaction from both exhibitors and visitors to our first show in China in 2004 clearly indicated that we have a key role to play in bringing together buyers and suppliers in this major market. This support, plus the welcome co-operation from our partner organisations in China, leads us to believe that inter airport China 2006 will be even more successful.’

Details of stand availability and prices at inter airport China 2006 will be published shortly.

Mack Brooks Exhibitions has long-standing expertise in organising trade exhibitions for the airports sector – the next inter airport Europe show, to take place in Munich, Germany from 11 to 14 October 2005, will be the 15th in this series of world-leading events.

PRESS RELEASE

inter airport Asia is heralded a success.
Follow-up Show Planned for 2006.

24 September 2004

Show organisers Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd, announced that 2,820 visitors had attended the first ever inter airport event to be held in the People’s Republic of China. inter airport Asia 2004 took place at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing from 22 to 24 September 2004.
The mood among the 150 exhibiting companies from 20 countries, was very buoyant given the quality of the attendance and given the rapid development of airports in China. Eighty two per cent of visitors were Chinese, drawn from the array of 150 civil airports throughout China (fifteen of which are international airports). Eighteen per cent of visitors attended the show from abroad, from 29 countries in total.

The exhibition and conference event was formally opened by Mr Yang Yuan Yuan, Minister of Civil Aviation Administration in China, who welcomed the first ever Chinese edition of inter airport and drew attention to the growth of air passenger and air cargo traffic in his country, which is now increasing at a rate of 20 per cent every year. Such an increase is more than double the growth rate seen elsewhere in the world. As such Mr Yang Yuan Yuan stated that an expanding range of new airport infrastructure developments was planned to accommodate this demand. Significant tenders for the full range of airport equipment, both terminal and ground support, were underway with more in the pipeline.

Speaking at the event, Show Director Tom Ho of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd stated: “We intended to organise inter airport here as a one-off in 2004, but, given an overwhelming number of requests from exhibitors, both from those at the exhibition and from those unable to exhibit because of space limitations, we have decided to repeat the show one more time in Beijing in 2006, here at the China International Exhibition Centre. The pace of development at Chinese airports coupled with the upcoming Beijing Olympics in 2008 means that the 2006 event looks very attractive for participants”.

Dieter Heinz, President of the trade association German Airport Technology and Equipment (GATE), which saw 35 German companies take part within the German government-sponsored national group, said: “Clearly the response from this region has been very good and our members are returning happy having established contact with new customers. German technology is particularly well suited to the demands set by the expanding Chinese market”.

On the second day of the three day show Mike Doane, Sales Director of UK based Douglas Equipment Ltd and a leading member of the British Airports Services and Equipment Association (BASEA) commented: “We’re very pleased with the exhibition. I’ve managed to see all the people I needed to see here in China. The airlines are here, the airports are here and, in addition, I have met delegations from Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan. We’re delighted to learn of the follow-up show in 2006.”

Twenty three exhibitors took part from the United Kingdom. Similar sentiments to those of Dieter Heinz and Mike Doane were echoed by the significant Dutch and French national group participants as well as from the range of American, European, Asian and Australasian suppliers.
